-I provide academic editing of books, book chapters, journal articles, theses, and grant applications

-I edit Word documents using “Track Changes” and “Comments”

-Types of editing:

• line editing: provides help with grammar and style; ensures error-free writing; checks for smooth flow of sentences; maintains academic tone; provides native English fluency while preserving writer’s own voice

• structural editing (for grant applications, etc.): helps with organizing your ideas to highlight your project’s strengths. Please note: I cannot provide this service for student work. 

-Formatting your document following your chosen style guide:

• I am an expert in APA
• I am experienced with Chicago
• I can prepare your manuscript for submission to a journal or academic publisher following its own style guide
• I can check the formatting of your references
• I can check your in-text citations against your reference list

-Turnaround time: I normally do not take on rush jobs. If you know you will be working to a tight deadline, please contact me in advance so I can check my schedule. 

About

-I have been editing for over 20 years

-I have broad experience working with non-native English speakers writing for publication in English

-I have done extensive editing work in the social sciences, especially education, but also have experience in other areas

-I have provided long-term support for many clients on their academic journeys from grad school through tenure

-I grew up in a house full of books as the daughter of a professor and a librarian. I’m a lifelong bookworm, enjoy creative writing in my spare time, and teach writing classes for kids.
